Our Family

Raymond was born and raised in PEI, but has a global outlook on things, courtesy of a grandfather who was very much interested in the world and a father who was an immigrant to Canada. He is pictured here with his business partner Kosaku Morita and Ryan McPhee, a friend of the family, while on a business trip to Japan. Raymond is currently trying to open the Japanese market to PEI products and has had some success. He's also had to eat some very strange things, but we won't talk about that...
This is Karen, She still hates getting her picture taken. Pretty hard to find one. Obviously, she's not hiding hard enough though, because this one is still around. She's trying her hand at teaching elementary now (which is a total hoot!) and is looking forward to having the summer to work on the flower beds and finishing painting the house. That's her there, in the middle, wearing gray, with the rest of the family at Christmas.
This is a picture of Blake and his wife Natalie, Christmas 2008. They were married in August of 2008 and will be moving to Hunter River, near her father's home, in the spring of 2009. Blake is currently working for a furniture company in Charlottetown, while Natalie works at a veterinary clinic just outside of Charlottetown. And do they not make the cutest couple?
Adam has graduated with his diploma in Culinary Arts and is now returning to Holland College (barring unforeseen circumstances) to finish his Applied Degree in Culinary Operations. He has recently returned from several overseas culinary competitions, the Culinary Olympics in Germany (Gold!) and another competition in Turkey (Gold again!). This picture is of him and Chef Hans Anderegg while they were in Istanbul, in front of the Blue Mosque.
Bridget is still crazy about animals, but horses seems to have passed the cows in the popularity contest. So much so that we now have a pony living in the back yard. Bridget really enjoys riding and has big plans for learning to canter and jump. Somehow, I don't think we'll be able to keep her working in the garden this year--I think it'll be more about brushing pony, feeding pony, leading pony, riding pony, looking at pony, patting pony, chasing pony, etc. Those of you who have met Raymond will know that he is rolling his eyes the whole time I write this, though he agrees I'm probably right. This picture is of Bridget being the flower girl for Blake and Natalie's wedding, because dressing up and princesses are still pretty cool, too.
